It’s official - the FIFAe Finals 2025 will take place during December in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, bringing the world’s best football esports nations to the global stage. As the momentum continues to build, plans for 2026 are already in motion, reinforcing a long-term commitment to the FIFAe scene. This year’s edition emphasizes that commitment.
Building on the legacy of previous editions and the momentum of the successful first-ever multi-title experience of the FIFAe Finals 2024, its return was only a matter of time.
The FIFAe Finals 2025 brings together the following three pinnacle competitions:
the FIFAe World Cup™ featuring Rocket League,
the FIFAe World Cup™ featuring eFootball™ Console,
and the FIFAe World Cup™ featuring eFootball™ Mobile.
The competitions will see FIFA’s Member Associations battling for international glory. Each competition will crown a World Champion redefining the standard for top-tier performance for future competitors across their respective titles.
Similar to last year’s FIFAe pinnacle competitions, each participating Nation will go through a self-structured process to select its national team, based on internally defined criteria. Once the extended rosters are finalized, the national teams will enter Regional Qualifiers, a key addition this year, where they compete against other nations in their region for a coveted spot in the pinnacle competition.
Step by step:
MAs confirm their participation in one, two, or all tournaments within the FIFAe Finals.
Once participation is confirmed, each MA selects the players who will represent their nation. In addition to meeting eligibility requirements MAs may decide an individual approach along these three Domestic Activations principles to build their roster:
Domestic Trial: Co-organized domestic tournament with FIFAe to identify top players.
Bootcamp: Independently organized activations, for which the Member Association invites the most promising prospects and coaches, to identify the ideal roster.
Direct Nomination: Member Associations may skip any qualification process and nominate players directly.
For both eFootball™ competitions, in-game event will be hosted by Konami during the domestic trial window, offering an optional reference for selection based on rankings.
Note: Each Nation is free to define its own selection criteria, regardless of domestic trial outcomes or rankings. Some might even decide to mix the various different approaches for the best result.
With extended rosters finalized, nations compete within their region. The top performing Member Associations from each region qualify for the pinnacle event.
The best-performing Member Associations across each title advance to the pinnacle event in Riyadh to compete for global glory. They will narrow down the extended squad to the very best to represent the nation.
The competition determines the Champion of the FIFAe World Cup™ featuring eFootball™ Console. After advancing from the Regional Qualifiers, 11 nations enter a group stage and join our host, totaling 12 teams. The top 8 nations from this stage move forward to the Knockout stage and compete for the World Champion title, in addition to the prize pool distributed amongst all 12 teams.
Details on the FIFAe World Cup 2025™ featuring eFootball™ Console will be shared soon.
The Champion of the FIFAe World Cup™ featuring eFootball™ Mobile will be crowned following a group stage, involving the top 11 nations from the Regional Qualifiers in addition to our host. The top 8 nations advance to a single elimination final stage to battle for the title and the biggest share of the prize pool.
Details on the FIFAe World Cup 2025™ featuring eFootball™ Mobile will be shared soon.
Rocket League follows a format similar to last year. After qualifying, 16 nations compete in a group stage. The top teams then enter a single-elimination bracket, where only one nation emerges as the World Champion.
Details on the FIFAe World Cup 2025™ featuring Rocket League will be shared soon.
The FIFAe Finals bring together three pinnacle events, continuing the multi-title approach introduced last year. With a goal of increasing accessibility to football esports, the event includes a qualification period for FIFAs Member Associations and a broader range of local and regional activations.
In the last edition, Saudi Arabia claimed the inaugural FIFAe World Cup featuring Rocket League, Indonesia won on eFootball™ console, and Malaysia triumphed on mobile. The titles are now up for grabs — whether the current champions defend their crowns or new ones emerge will be decided by those ready to rise to the occasion.
More information on ticketing, prize pool, and finalized dates will be shared soon.
