Following a long and extensive season-long qualification process, which involved pre-qualification, online qualifiers, and playoffs in every region around the world, the 24 clubs have finally been confirmed that will compete to get their hands on the FIFAe Club World Cup 2022™ presented by EA SPORTS™ trophy in Copenhagen, Denmark, as part of the FIFAe Finals 2022.
The best teams from every corner of the globe have been competing against each other in an exciting 2v2 format. Due to the ever-increasing number of participants across the globe, clubs were split into several divisions and conferences on their qualification route to the FIFAe Club World Cup 2022. Over 780 clubs competed in this year’s FIFAe Club Series™, which is an all-time high.
The top clubs from qualification in their specific regions progressed to their FIFAe Club Playoffs, where only a few clubs from each region around the world joined the two clubs already qualified from the Team of the Season Cup - Team Heretics and Dire Wolves - for the pinnacle event in Copenhagen.
Dire Wolves had already qualified earlier in the season, but it’s worth noting that ORDER have been a phenomenally dominant side in the Oceania region all season. The ORDER duo of Dylan Campbell and Negede Hunegnaw only conceded one goal in their run to winning the Playoffs, besting their opponents in the Final 6-0.
In Europe, the attacking tag-team Fnatic duo of Donovan ‘Tekkz’ Hunt and Diogo is proving very difficult to unhinge - they breezed through the Europe North Upper Bracket, beating Excel 7-1 on aggregate in the Semi-Final and SAF 9-3 in the Final.
Reply Totem Esports caused a slight shock in Europe East & Central, as the Italian duo of Antonio ‘Santill1’ Santillo and Andrea ‘Montaxer’ Montanini knocked out the likes of Wolfsburg, FC Köln and NEO on their way to convincingly becoming Playoffs winners.
In North America, it’s reigning FIFAe Club World Cup champions Complexity Gaming who stamped their mark, overcoming a bracket reset scare from DC United. The long-term duo of Max ‘MaXe’ Popov and Joksan Redona will certainly be looking to repeat their 2020 and 2021 Zone Final success.
The FIFAe Finals in their entirety will be streamed live on FIFAe’s Twitch and Facebook channels - and the FIFAe Club World Cup will take place live from July 20 to July 23. Make sure to catch all the results and action also live on the hub for FIFAe - FIFA.GG.
