• Second day at the FIFAe Club World Cup 2022 provides tense atmosphere as teams aim to qualify

• Reply Totem Esports (6-4-0) and Fnatic (6-4-0) sail through Group stage with confidence

• Ninjas in Pyjamas (4-6-0) also remain unbeaten through ten rounds over two days

Day two of the FIFAe Club World Cup 2022™ presented by EA SPORTS™ has come to a close here at the Bella Arena in Copenhagen, Denmark and through the conclusion of the Group stage, we have received the teams who will be competing to get their hands on the brand-new FIFAe Club World Cup trophy.

The competition day kicked off at 11am with the Group A & C matchups. The pick of the matches came between the first-round matchup of Team Heretics and EXCEL in Group A, as a goal from EXCEL in the last ten minutes secured a 3-2 win and continued their unbeaten start to the tournament.

It is currently Reply Totem Esports who have looked the most dominant through the entirety of the Group stage - having a goal difference of +13 - the most of the tournament so far, whilst also not losing a single match (6-4-0). They are joined at the top of their respective groups by Ninjas in Pyjamas, Fnatic and Riders, who look the strongest heading into tomorrow.

Reply Totem Esports have casually strolled through Group C - as mentioned, unbeaten - finishing the Group stage on 22 points. Joining them in the knockout stage from Group C is the Sergio Aguero-represented KRÜ Esports who have shown off their teamwork very well on the big stage so far. Progressing is Saudi Arabia-based club ANKAAEsports - who had a successful day one but needed a late dramatic 90th minute equaliser to finish in the top four and sneak through to the Knockout stage. Also qualifying is the Swedish duo representing Mkers, who mainly stayed out of danger throughout the day to secure their position in the next phase.

Group A was much tighter at the top, as Ninjas in Pyjamas finished at the top with EXCEL, sharing the top point total of 18. MGCF Esports - RMA Tech also managed to qualify without much drama, finishing just below on 16. Towards the bottom half of the table, the last qualification spot came down to Team Heretics and 1. FC Köln, with the former prevailing, utilising their Team of the Season Cup experience to finish ahead on 11 points, but their progression was anything but smooth. 

Group B and D’s top two spots were settled relatively early on, with Riders, FC Schalke 04, Fnatic and GBX Esports Team all continuing their good form from day one and securing their spot in the Knockout stage after just a few rounds. With the other spots up for grabs, it came down to tight margins in the final tenth round of play, with KoraGate Geekay Esports prevailing over previous FIFAe Club World Champions Complexity Gaming to send them home early, as well as Dire Wolves securing a victory over GBX Esports Team to fire them into tomorrow’s play. NEO and SAF complete the last 16 that will be back tomorrow to secure spots in the latter stages of the competition.
