The last two days of the FIFAe World Cup 25™ ft. Rocket League have been intense: between tight qualifications to the playoffs and four incredible quarter-finals after the last group stage day, it has never been more nerve-wrecking at the SEF Arena.
Not only has the talent and skills from players have made the competition incredibly entertaining, but fans from everywhere across the world have made the event twice as intense thanks to their participation onsite or from home.
While the FIFAe World Cup ft. Rocket League is reaching its end, here are some highlights from the previous days
Morocco started their day in a fantastic shape, holding a 5-0 victory in the first game against Netherlands. However, Netherlands managed to win the second game and dralii, Skyrix, nass & Miki could simply not get close to the qualification score and ended up leaving the competition early.
In an outstanding display of talent during the Belgium vs England match, Archie secured the victory of the first game against Belgium in the very last second. Nevertheless, Belgium came back in the second half of the matchup, with a devastating 4-2, generating a draw, which earned both nations one point.
While South Africans were able to step their game more through day 2, 2Die4, gunz, Snowyy & cpZebra unfortunately bid goodbye and got disqualified by round 10.
In a turn of events, Australia won the first game of the day against France, while zen, Juicy, Vatira and Ferra came back in the second game, earning Australians a point. Unfortunately fever, torsos, bananahead & duggy did not score enough points to secure their spot at the quarter-finals, which in consequence earned Atow, Rysfox, AztraL & Eversax more points towards their qualification.
Again, a tight match between the USA and Saudi Arabia took place in their second encounter at the Group Stage. Saudi Arabia managed to get to the top of the group after this victory, with a crushing 5-1 against the NRG favorites.
Germany and Italy were in a draw for the fourth place until the 10th round, until Germany defeated the Chileans, and Italy couldn't secure a win against Norway. This earned the Germans a spot at the playoffs.
Despite being eliminated early in the last rounds of the group stage, Reysbull, Davitrox, pan. and groval managed to draw their match against the Champions in the 12th round. They additionally drew with the Atomic, Daniel, Beastmode and Satthew, which earned the current Champions Kiileerrz, Rw9, TRK511 & d7oom-24 the first place on the table.
Brazilians kept a consistently good performance throughout the competition, earning their qualification in the third place of the table.
France, England, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Belgium, USA, Brazil and the Netherlands qualified for the Quarter Finals.
Brazil played England, defeating them in a very tight match that Archie, Joyo, ApparentlyJack and eekso had to concede the match after YANXNZ, SWIFTT, LOSTT & BRUNOVISQUI recovered in a spectacular fashion.
France played Germany, quickly resulting in a 4-0 match, with Tox, Rezears, Cata and FreaKii saying goodbye to the competition early on, after surprisingly standing against the French.
Saudi Arabia vs Belgium was full of excitement, with Belgium winning the first game of the matchup and consistently representing danger for the Saudis. Their constant offense and incredible defense made the Champions sweat, but ultimately, their barrier got broken and Saudi Arabia was able to secure their spot in the Semi-Finals.
USA and Netherlands had a short but intense encounter, where the American team managed the victory after four games. The Dutch Mikeboy, Oaly, Joreuz and ViolentPanda said goodbye, after a great overall performance during group stage.
On 19 December, the Champion of the FIFAe World Cup 25™ ft. Rocket League arises! Semi finals between Brazil and Saudi Arabia, and France vs. USA will take place starting from 16:30 GMT+3. Will Saudi Arabia retain the trophy? Or will a new Champion come along?
