FIFAe Squad initiative and overarching theme tune for FIFAe released
Featuring both 1v1 and 2v2 competitions, players will represent themselves, globally recognized esports organizations, real-world football clubs, and their nation in a diverse set of FIFA esports events.
The three competitions featured in the expanded esports ecosystem are the FIFAe Club Series 2022™, the FIFAe Nations Series 2022™, and the EA SPORTS FIFA 22 Global Series™ on The Road to the FIFAe World Cup 2022™. The three pinnacle events of the series will all take place in summer 2022.
Qualification starts November 27 as the traditional 1v1 competitive FIFA format is showcased with online tournaments across 10 global regions. In addition, more than 30 Official League Partners, including the Premier League, Bundesliga, La Liga, Ligue 1, MLS, CONMEBOL Copa Libertadores, and UEFA Champions League will give fans residing in each respective nation the opportunity to represent real-world clubs.
Register to compete here on October 4.
At the end of the season, the top players in each region’s rankings will be invited to the EA SPORTS FIFA 22 Global Series Playoffs. Half of the participants will earn their way there through Official League Partners, whilst the other half will come from the regional EA SPORTS FIFA 22 Global Series Rankings. There will be a total of 128 players, who will compete until 32 players remain for the pinnacle event - the FIFAe World Cup 2022™!
For more information on how to get involved and play in the EA SPORTS FIFA 22 Global Series, check out the How to Play or visit EA’s website here.
The FIFAe Club Series 2022™ featuring 2v2 competition begins this November with the FIFAe Club Online Qualifiers™ and also includes the new FUT Team of the Year and Season Cups on the Road to the FIFAe Club World Cup 2022™.
Following the format of the FIFAe Club Series 2021™, the online qualifiers consist of separate conferences and divisions in each of the regional zones.
Throughout the qualifying weeks, clubs can be relegated or promoted from their division based on their performance in the weekly double elimination brackets. The lower divisions will be eliminated from their conference ahead of week 3 and 4. Similar to the FIFAe Club Online Qualifiers 2021™, only the very best and most consistent clubs will move on to the FIFAe Club Playoffs™.
From the FIFAe Club Playoffs™, only the top 22 clubs will qualify for the pinnacle event - the FIFAe Club World Cup 2022™, taking place in summer 2022. There, they will be joined by two clubs, qualifying from the FUT Team of the Year Cup and the FUT Team of the Season Cup respectively.
The FIFAe Club Ranking takes the clubs’ performances in the FIFAe Club Series™ competitions from the EA SPORTS FIFA 19 & 20 Global Series, as well as the FIFAe Club Series 2021™ into account.
Every club that participated in Online Qualifiers for the FIFAe Club World Cup™ of the respective seasons received Club Ranking Points based on the achieved average points per matchup - click here for more details on how the FIFAe Club Ranking works.

The FIFAe Nations Series 2022™ will feature member associations competing against each other in this global 2v2 competition, as well as national campaigns to find the top competitive stars.
All participating member associations from the 2021 season are invited to take part in the FIFAe Nations Series™ via the FIFAe Nations Online Qualifier 2022™ Play-Ins, which are to take place over five months from December to April. The participating nations around the world are split into different zones for the online tournament.
Those that don’t qualify directly for the Playoffs via the Play-Ins will have another chance during the FIFAe Nations Online Qualifiers, where they will be joined by newly onboarding member associations. During the online qualifiers, the nations battle it out within their respective zones in a 2v2 format in May 2022, playing for a chance to compete for the remaining spots in the FIFAe Nations Playoffs 2022™.
The FIFAe Nations Playoffs 2022™ will determine the 23 nations which will join the host nation at the pinnacle event of the series in summer 2022 - the FIFAe Nations Cup 2022™.
The FIFAe tournament series is now supported by the FIFA Sound strategy with an overarching theme tune, for which each individual competitive FIFA tournament will own a sound variation, allowing for unique brand association.
The Core Thematic is written to encompass the entirety of the FIFAe sonic universe. It blends the hybrid orchestral/hip hop elements of the FIFAe World Cup Thematic, the driving electronic and epic nature of the FIFAe Club World Cup Thematic, and the triumphant regal nature of the FIFAe Nations Cup Thematic into a cohesive and engaging song.
Based on the Core Thematic, each of the three Tournament Thematics will preserve core brand equities. Adjusting instrumentation, arrangement, talent, and mood accentuates specific qualities of each individual tournament.
FIFA wants to interact with the community - and it is important to make sure that it continues to unearth talent in the FIFAe scene. Giving the community that spends their free time involved with the passion of FIFAe a voice remains a main focus of the organisation.
With this in mind, FIFA is thrilled to introduce the “FIFAe Squad” - an approach that aims to get closer to the community, support promising talent and grow the FIFAe scene with them. The main goal is to create a truly unique, inclusive, and community-driven program to build a long-term legacy within the FIFAe community.
Ambassadors will begin to fulfil roles in the FIFAe community, ranging from creating content to go out on FIFAe’s social media - to being a guest commentator and analyst - or even potentially becoming an ambassador at live events. Further information will be released in the upcoming weeks.
Alongside growing the esports competitions, FIFAe is committed to utilising its platform to support several causes moving forward. As part of this, FIFAe is proud to have joined the #ReachOut campaign to assist in the fight for better mental health. More information will be communicated shortly.
