With the launch of the FIFAe Storytelling Fund, creators, member associations, teams and individuals across the FIFAe ecosystem will have the opportunity to apply for funding to bring their ideas to life and help shape how football esports stories are told. This new initiative is designed to put storytelling into the hands of the community.

It operates across two pillars: one supporting member associations with funding to bring their stories to life, and one open to anyone in the community with a story worth telling.

What can you create?

We are opening the fund to a wide range of formats featuring players or nations of the FIFAe ecosystem, including:

• Documentaries such as player journeys or behind the scenes content

• Podcasts including interviews, talk formats or storytelling series

• Promotional and social-first videos covering coming events, players or key moments

• Community stories that highlight player journeys, local scenes, grassroots initiatives or fan perspectives

• Creative graphics and other assets

How it works

The process has been designed to be simple and accessible:

1. Submit your idea

Share your concept, format and vision via a dedicated application form available here

2. Selection based on five key criteria

Ideas will be reviewed and evaluated by FIFAe.

3. Next Steps for selected applicants

Selected applicants will be contacted and must provide:

• Budget breakdown - detailed overview of estimated costs and

• Pitch document - additional pitch document summarizing the concept, etc.

4. Bring your story to life

Selected applicants receive funding to produce their content.

5. Share it with the world

Share the final story with your community and across the FIFAe ecosystem.

Criteria

All applications are assessed against the five criteria below. Rights is a pass/fail threshold; applications that do not meet it are disqualified before scoring begins.

• Fit: Content should focus clearly on the FIFAe ecosystem, with storytelling around national teams and their players, prioritizing those qualified for the final stages of this season.

• Distribution: Proposal clearly outlines distribution plans and potential impact on digital or traditional channels. Preference for projects with multilingual or subtitled versions to maximize global accessibility.

• Viability: Applicant must submit a realistic budget breakdown, evidence of production capability (e.g. previous work) and a clear timeline

• Rights: Content must be original work, not repurposed existing content. Applicants must retain or clearly license all footage, music, and IP used.

• Reporting: Recipients must submit a post-release impact report (views, reach, press coverage)

We're excited to launch this fund for the first time and to start supporting storytelling in our community. As with any new initiative, funding is limited, and we expect to learn a great deal from this first round. These learnings will help us to continuously improve how we support the community going forward. We appreciate your understanding, and the effort that goes into every application.
