The following shall outline what to do in order to participate in the FIFAe Club Series 2023™ – from starting at registration to qualifying for the FIFAe Club World Cup 2023™. This post will be updated from time to time when new information is being confirmed.
The following is only an additional support document provided by FIFA and does not overrule or replace the respective Terms and Conditions, which can be found upon the registration process.
The following points will describe what you need to do on FIFA.GG to be ready for the registration period.
In order to participate your club needs to have a FIFA.GG profile.
You can create a new one by simply going to FIFA.GG and following the process as a team manager.
If you have the chance to reuse an existing club account (recommended and the only way to reclaim any existing ranking points), please make sure that any former managers have granted you permission to being a team manager on FIFA.GG and check that you can edit the information in your club, as well as adding players, etc.
Next you need to update your athletes within the wider club roster.
Make sure to add the athletes you wish to use before starting the registration process. Also, please release any athletes you may not use for the season.
Athletes that are not in your club roster cannot be nominated for the competition during the registration process by your club.
Update your athlete profile
If you are an athlete, please make sure that your data is up-to-date and you verify especially your used PSN-ID, Gamertags and country of residency – as this information is crucial for your eligibility within the FIFAe Club Series 2023.
Please be aware that FIFA is regularly checking all new registrations on FIFA.GG and might require you to adjust your club name or athlete gamertag to be in line with the existing rules.
When creating a profile make sure that you have the right to use such names, trademarks, etc. FIFA might ask you to show proof that you are allowed to use those.
In case you are planning on registering an academy team, please be aware that the name is clearly distinguished from the original team (including a separate bespoke logo), as FIFA will consider them separate entities. Adding only numbers as distinction at the end of the official club name will not be considered “distinctively different”.
If your club is part of a professional organisation, the team manager has the opportunity to submit paperwork to become a verified team prior to the registration.
You may also complete the registration at the same time. Once your documentation has been evaluated, your club is simply changed in status.
All clubs that participated in the pre-qualification last season and earned Club Ranking Points by qualifying to the main stage have been verified.
Once you have a club with at least two athletes added to your roster, you can sign-up for the FIFAe Club Series 2023, which is a 2v2 competition. We would recommend that you read the following text carefully, so that you register for the correct zones and are fully aware of all opportunities.
Once you have chosen to register for a specific zone you can no longer change the zone without “cancelling” your current registration and starting from the beginning.
There will be multiple zones you can choose from. Unlike in the past, FIFA will not restrict you only to zones in which your athletes are residents – so you could choose to play with athletes from two different zones, as long as they agree on one zone in which they want to compete.
IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO PLAY ALL GAMES FROM WITHIN THE COUNTRIES INDICATED TO BELONG TO ONE ZONE!
Athletes competing from outside those countries might experience a significantly different gaming experience.
Since all games are played via servers, the connection for athletes competing within the recommended zone will not be affected.
Make sure that the team manager completes the registration process properly.
This includes nominating at least two athletes During each Free Agency Phase the maximum club roster size will increase by one spot.
Phase 1: five (5) -> six (6)
Phase 2: six (6) -> seven (7)
Once an athlete is nominated and accepted the nomination, they can no longer represent other clubs during the FIFAe Club Series 2023.
Clubs will have the chance to pick up free agents in dedicated windows between the Pre-Qualification and Main Rounds, before the Playoffs and before the FIFAe Club World Cup.
Phase 1: January 10th - January 24th
Phase 2: April 12th- May 1st
It is recommended to nominate at least 3 athletes to the active club squad.
If an athlete is unable to compete due to an unexpected complication (you need to provide sufficient evidence), replacements may only come from the active club squad.
Also, make sure that the terms and conditions are accepted.
Make sure that your athletes are accepting their nomination on FIFA.GG and that they accept the terms of the competition as well.
Until the registration deadline expires athletes can decline their nomination and accept a nomination for another club.
A team manager can monitor the status of nominations of their athletes in the competition tab.
Only once the club and at least two athletes complete the registration, a club is considered “registered” and will be listed in the seeding.
In certain situations, when a club or athlete changes their account, after the registration was “completed”, there might be an effect on the status of the registration. In those cases, the registration will revert to showing “pending”, until all of the above conditions are met again.
As in the past, the seeding of the FIFAe Club Series will determine the starting point of clubs within the FIFAe Club Series 2023.
Firstly, the clubs that are VERIFIED and have FIFAe CLUB RANKING POINTS are seeded.
The seeding is based on their ranking points.
The FIFAe Club Ranking Points are solely based on the performance of the organization throughout the FIFAe Club Series™ competitions, from the EA SPORTS FIFA 20 Global Series, as well as the FIFAe Club Series 2021 & 2022™. Check out the FIFAe Club Ranking for more information.
Secondly, the clubs that are VERIFIED but do not have any ranking points yet are seeded
The determining factor will be time of their full registration. This is determined by the system automatically once the above conditions are met fully.
Lastly, all unverified clubs are seeded.
Again, this will be determined based on the time of registration.
Compared to the 2022 season, fewer teams will automatically be seeded in the Main Stage of the competition to increase the competitiveness of the qualification. However, the overall number of clubs that can participate will be increased, based on the registration results of the past season.
As in the last season, since there is no guarantee on a starting spot due to size limitations, some clubs might be placed on a waiting list.
In order to reflect the individual zones around the world and their individual feedback, dedicated formats have been selected for each region. However, the basic principles will always be the same:
Pre-Qualification
This will be played across two weeks, in which most clubs will have two chances to qualify for the main rounds.
In essence, if your club does not qualify within the first week you will automatically be seeded in the second week to have a second chance.
The basis of this stage will be a double-elimination bracket.
In some zones, the clubs will be split into multiple brackets to allow for more teams to participate.
Such allocation is based on the seeding.
The teams that qualify to the Main Rounds in week 1 will be replaced by teams from the waiting list.
In case a club does not participate in week 1 without previously sharing a valid reason with FIFA, it might also be replaced with another club from the waiting list.
Main Rounds
The main rounds will once again be played in the already known ‘Division’ system with double-elimination brackets of 8 clubs each.
The last standing clubs of 1. Division of each qualifying week will directly qualify for the Playoffs.
Winning two consecutive weeks will mean that the next best finishing club will qualify instead.
All remaining clubs for the Playoffs will be determined via the consistency ranking, same as in 2022.
Playoffs
The playoffs will once again determine the best clubs to qualify for the FIFAe Club World Cup 2023.
To understand the setup in each zone, we recommend you reading the summary below. If registration numbers are significantly different from what was expected based on the 2022 numbers, the format of individual stages in various zones might be adjusted.

From there, only the very best clubs qualify. The exact number of teams qualifying from each zone to the Playoffs will be determined after the registration period and take into account the overall number of registrations per zone.
More information about the exact format and schedule for the FIFAe Club World Cup 2023 will be released throughout the season.
Generally, the FeCWC23 will be played with 24 clubs – 22 of which come from the above qualification, 2 of which come from the EA SPORTS 2v2 competition.
Similar to the 2022 season, FIFA will enforce equipment regulations as part of any offline events during the FIFAe Club Series 2023. The full Equipment Regulations can be accessed through this link: click here
