The third day of the FIFAe Club World Cup 2023™ presented by Gamers8 was completely electrifying – the players moved on from the group stage onto the Round of 16, in which many surprises, extremely tight competitions and emotions took place. The passionate fans in attendance further electrified the atmosphere throughout all matches, encouraging both experienced and new players to the FIFAe Club World Cup to give their all on the virtual pitch. An energizing display of exceptional talent and skills was then evident throughout the whole evening.

On the third day, not only did the Round of 16 take place, but the semifinals followed immediately after, giving players a short time to regroup and prepare. Some noteworthy highlights of the day included fan-favorites bidding farewell to the competition, unexpected turn of events, gripping extra-time moments, and captivating penalty shootouts that kept everyone on the edge of their seats throughout the matches.

Highlights

• AFC Ajax Brazil was disqualified in the Round of 16 after an intense and lengthy penalty shootout against Team FUTWIZ Europe.

• xRaptors Twisted Minds, the local favorites resulted eliminated in the Round of 16

• After an incredibly good streak, Apogee Poland leaves the competition after a tight two-legged match against TG.NIP.

• Napoli eSports made it to the semifinals in their debut appearance at the FIFAe Club World Cup, securing impressive victories along the way.

• Team FUTWIZ Europe staged an exceptional comeback in extra time against Atlantide Wave in the quarterfinals, securing a spot in the semifinals.

• TG.NIP emerged victorious with a 1-0 win against DUX America in a hard-fought two-legged match, with DUX America showcasing a solid defense but ultimately conceding the one and only goal.

• After a long match for the qualification in the semi finals, RBLZ Gaming – RB Leipzig managed to eliminate Brøndby Esport, who were up until then the top scorer of the tournament.

About the competition

The conclusion of the FIFAe Club World Cup 2023 is coming close and with it, the crowning of the FIFAe Club World Champion. On 09 July, four teams will now face each other in the semi finals and the two winning teams will meet at the finals. After three intense days of fierce competition, only one team will claim the title.
