Format of the first FIFAe World Cup 2024™ featuring Rocket League

The FIFAe World Cup 2024™ featuring Rocket League brings together world’s top players in a pinnacle competition, where 16 national teams battle for glory, national pride and a chance to become a FIFAe World Champion in this first-ever partnership between FIFAe and Rocket League.

Each team consists of three players, one substitute, and a coach, all competing over four days to claim the title of Champion of the FIFAe World Cup 2024™ featuring Rocket League. The competition is structured in two key phases: a group stage and a knockout round.

Group Stage

The tournament opens with a rigorous group stage that embodies the core identity of FIFAe, emphasizing adaptability, skill, and high-level play. Held over the first two days, 16 teams are divided into two groups of eight. Each team plays every other team in its group twice (2-Leg format), resulting in 14 matchups per team in a best-of-2 format (Bo2).

Here, matches can end in a win, draw, or loss. This structure challenges teams to maintain consistent performance throughout. Points per matchup are awarded based on performance:

• three (3) points for a win,

• one (1) for a draw, and

• none (0) for a loss.

Tiebreakers consider overall points, goals scored and goal differential. For teams tied on points, direct comparisons are made by evaluating goal difference and goals scored between those teams. If necessary, these factors are then assessed across the entire group level. By the end of Day 2, the top four teams from each group will move forward to the knockout rounds.

Knockout Round

The final two days mark the high-stakes knockout round. The top four teams from each group advance to the quarterfinals.

The third day will feature the quarterfinals where every match is played in a best-of-7 (Bo7) format, with the remaining teams battling for a spot in the semi-finals and grand finals on Day 4.

The Grand Final

The winner of the Grand Final on Day 4 will earn the prestigious title of the first-ever FIFAe World Champion 2024™ featuring Rocket League and will be able to bring national pride home.
