The FIFAe World Cup 2024™ featuring eFootball™ Console and the FIFAe World Cup 2024™ featuring eFootball™ Mobile will share a similar format, differing only in the number of players per Nation.
18 Nations to participate in console, while 16 nations will participate in mobile
The tournaments take place during the FIFAe Finals 2024
The FIFAe World Cup 2024™ featuring eFootball™ unites the world’s top players in a landmark event, where national teams and individual competitors battle for glory, national pride, and the chance to become a FIFAe World Champion across two formats: console and mobile.
Keeping the identity of FIFAe competitions intact by bringing fairness and challenging stages, both tournaments share a similar structure with two phases: a group stage and a knockout round that take place across the same four days.
FIFAe World Cup 2024™ featuring eFootball™ Console: Each national team consists of two (2) players and one (1) substitute, allowing for a small team dynamic and the potential for substitutions during the competition. In total, 18 nations participate in the console platform.
FIFAe World Cup 2024™ featuring eFootball™ Mobile: Each nation is represented by a single (1) player, competing alone throughout the event. A total of 16 nations participate in the mobile platform.
For the FIFAe World Cup 2024™ featuring eFootball™ Console, the 18 teams are divided into two groups of nine, where each team plays eight matchups against others in its group.
For the FIFAe World Cup 2024™ featuring eFootball™ Mobile, 16 players are divided into two groups of eight, where each team plays seven matchups against others in their groups.
Each matchup is a single game, meaning that each match can end in a win, loss, or draw. Teams earn:
3 points for a win,
1 point for a draw,
and 0 points for a loss.
This system applies to both competitions, determining rankings and qualification for the next stage. In both competitions, the top four participating nations from each group advance to the knockout phase, based on points earned in the earlier stage.
The knockout stage is where the ultimate challenge for the eight top nations to remain in contention and make their way to the finals, with each team having minimal room for error. The knockout phase for both competitions follow a similar structure:
The top four nations from each group (eight nations in total) move into the quarterfinals, and all matches in the knockout phase are conducted as best-of-3 games (Bo3).
Each competition's knockout round includes quarterfinals, semi-finals, and a grand final carried out on the last day of the competition.
The Grand Final of each competition crowns its respective Champion. The FIFAe World Cup 2024™ featuring eFootball™ Console winner earns the title of Champion of FIFAe World Cup™ featuring eFootball™ on Console while the FIFAe World Cup 2024™ featuring eFootball™ Mobile winner becomes the FIFAe Champion of FIFAe World Cup™ featuring eFootball on Mobile
These two tournaments run under the same title, but claim different strategies and overall dynamics, with the main difference being the experience of solo versus team-based games. Moreover, they culminate in the crowning of two different champions in mobile and console platforms.
