How to compete in FIFA esports: Curtain raises on new FIFAe season

FIFAe has announced today the tournament process leading up to the three pinnacle events of competitive FIFA: The FIFAe World Cup 2023™ presented by EA SPORTS™, the FIFAe Club World Cup 2023™ presented by EA SPORTS™ and the FIFAe Nations Cup 2023™ presented by EA SPORTS™ will all take place in the summer of next year.

The new season will provide clubs with more chances to showcase their talent to the world, individual players with multiple opportunities to fulfil their dream of solo glory, and more nations than ever to participate and engage in esports throughout the year in the FIFAe Nations Series 2023™. History will be written in summer 2023 as three champions will be crowned after a season of fierce qualification. 

The competitions will culminate at the FIFAe Finals 2023 next summer, where USD 1.2 million will be handed out to the participants over the course of the three pinnacle events, in addition to other prize money that will also be distributed at FIFAe competitions total throughout the season.



EA SPORTS™ FIFA 23 Global Series

Registration: Sept 2022 - Dec 2022

Competition: Jan 2023 - July 2023

The search for the FIFAe World Champion begins from home, with players from all over the world competing through FUT Division Rivals from worldwide launch on 27 September. From there, the highest-ranked competitors qualify for Online Qualifiers hosted throughout the EA SPORTS FIFA 23 Global Series season - the first of five commences on 7 January. Individual players will once again have the opportunity to show the entire world that they are the greatest that competitive FIFA has to offer and continue on their personal journey to fame their game.

The top competitors in regional qualifiers will participate in the FGS Mid-Season Major on the weekend of 7 April, alongside league partners and confederation tournaments, earning ranking points along the way. This competition will feature a massive, open bracket, allowing any player - residing in one of the 70 eligible countries - the ability to play against the world’s best.

Only the best players from regional leaderboards and partners will make it to the EA SPORTS FIFA 23 Global Series Play-Ins in an attempt to qualify for the EA SPORTS FIFA 23 Global Series Playoffs, taking place from 23-25 June. From there, they will join the challenge to be among the 24 players qualifying for the FIFAe World Cup 2022™ presented by EA SPORTS™ to be in with a chance to write their names into competitive FIFA folklore and the biggest share of the USD 500,000 prize pool.

FIFAe Club Series 2023

Registration: Oct 2022

Competition: Nov 2022 - July 2023

The FIFAe Club Series™ - FIFAe’s official narrative for teams carrying their badge with pride onto the virtual pitch - begins this coming November with the Pre-qualification stages, the entry point for all new clubs. Teams ready to be among the world’s best can now sign up on FIFA.GG and start battling through an extensive qualification over multiple months, leading up to the FIFAe Club World Cup 2023™ presented by EA SPORTS™, competing for a share of the USD 300,000 prize pool. The best of the newly-signed up and average-ranked teams in the Pre-qualification Stage I and II - the latter only applicable in more competitive regions - will progress and join some of the world’s best clubs in the Online Qualifiers.

From December to April, clubs will compete in the FIFAe Club Online Qualifiers stage in three-week-long formats rewarding both consistency and final standing in a divisional/conference system. The very best clubs from this stage will make it to the FIFAe Club Playoffs™, where they will go head-to-head for one of the 22 spots up for grabs. Additionally, the EA SPORTS™ Cup, culminating in January, will provide two more slots for teams to qualify for the pinnacle event - the FIFAe Club World Cup 2023™ presented by EA SPORTS™ - next summer.

How to compete in the FIFAe Club Series 2023

  1. Players and team managers must complete their sign-ups on FIFA.GG.

  2. If there is a competition in which a player is eligible for, this will show in the competition section, where they can register.

  3. The process of signing up your club must be completed by a team manager. A team manager can register your club in the FIFAe Club Series™ by accepting the terms & conditions and nominating the players to represent the club.

  4. Once the players have been nominated, they will see this in their competition section and can accept or decline the nomination. To proceed with nomination, they will also need to accept the terms & conditions.

  5. After completing all of these steps, the club will be registered in the FIFAe Club Series 2023™ and will compete online against other clubs in an attempt to qualify for the FIFAe Club World Cup 2023™.


FIFAe Nations Series 2023

Registration: Sept 2022 - Oct 2022

Competition: Dec 2022 - July 2023

The FIFAe Nations Series™ - involving member associations across the globe looking to wave their flag in competitive FIFA - will start with national campaigns in the respective countries. To provide already established MAs from last season another chance at qualifying for the main stages, the first step is the FIFAe Nations Play-Ins, played over a total of three match-weeks from December to March.

The very best nations will qualify directly to the FIFAe Nations Playoffs™, whereas the rest of the qualifiers will fill up spots in the FIFAe Nations Online Qualifiers in April, attempting to become one of the nations to fill up the last slots at the final qualification step. At the Playoffs, the 23 best nations from around the world will be decided and will join the host nation qualified for the pinnacle event of this series: the FIFAe Nations Cup 2023™ presented by EA SPORTS™. Who will claim the title of FIFAe Nations Champion and the largest share of the USD 400,000 prize pool?

FIFA.GG will continue to serve as the main hub of FIFAe for the upcoming season, where fans and players alike will be able to see results, rankings, fixtures and livestreams from the events. More information about the respective series is also available on FIFA.GG.

  1. Players and team managers must complete their sign-ups on FIFA.GG.

  2. If there is a competition in which a player is eligible for, this will show in the competition section, where they can register.

  3. Your respective member association’s sign-up must be completed by an MA manager. An MA manager can register your nation in the FIFAe Nation Series™ by accepting the terms & conditions and nominating the players to represent the nation.

  4. Once the players have been nominated, they will see this in their competition section and can accept or decline the nomination. To proceed with nomination, they will also need to accept the terms & conditions.

  5. After completing all of these steps, the nation will be registered in the FIFAe Nations Series 2023™ and will compete online against other clubs in an attempt to qualify for the FIFAe Nations Cup 2023™.
