The FIFAe World Cup 2025™ featuring eFootball™ will mark a historic moment in the competition’s evolution. The FIFAe Draft will be introduced for the Regional Online Qualifiers and the FIFAe Finals. The FIFAe Draft brings an additional dimension of tactical depth and strategy to the competition, marking a new approach for squad building in eFootball™ tournaments on Mobile and Console.
By producing unique squads for every team, the FIFAe Draft challenges strategic thinking, rewards tactical knowledge, and adds a fresh layer of excitement and engagement for viewers. A separate draft will be held per group for each competition, ensuring that every team builds its squad under the same conditions. The draft follows a randomized snake order (e.g. 1-2-3-4, then 4-3-2-1).
The FIFAe Draft is not just about picking the “best” players – it’s about making the right choices at the right time. Teams will need to:
Secure top-tier players early as key player picks – doing so may leave other roles exposed.
Draft versatile players in Phase 2 to build a competitive roster and restrict opponents tactically.
Balance creativity with structure when completing their squads, especially with preferred formations and playstyles in mind.
The FIFAe Draft is more than a new rule. It’s a new way to challenge skill, strategy, and adaptability. For the first time, FIFAe introduces a team-building mechanic to eFootball™ that demands tactical versatility and smart roster-building decisions.
To ensure a level playing field, FIFAe will provide official eFootball™ accounts prepared by KONAMI to all participating Member Associations. These accounts will be used to build each team’s 23-player roster via the draft system.
The FIFAe Draft consists of three main phases that take place prior to the start of the competition. Before Phase 1 kicks off the randomized snake draft order will be drawn and publicized.
Each team privately selects three key players and shares their decisions with the FIFAe team via the submission form at least one day before Phase 2.
These players are locked to the respective team and removed from the pool.
Duplicates are allowed in this phase, meaning the same player may appear in multiple teams.
No Goalkeepers can be selected in this phase.
Once all selections have been recorded, the results will be shared with all participants so they can prepare their strategies for Phase 2.
All selected key players are removed from the draft pool and can no longer be selected.
Multiple days before the start of the group stage, each team selects 10 players following the snake draft order in live draft sessions,.
Each pick must be submitted within 2 minutes.
No duplicates are allowed in this phase – each selected player is unique to one team.
No Goalkeepers can be selected in this phase.
Once Phase 2 is completed, the drafted rosters and the remaining available players will be shared to help players prepare for their squad completion in Phase 3.
Each team completes its roster by choosing from the remaining player pool (The “Open Player Pool”). This includes all players not selected in Phases 1 and 2.
Each team must pick at least 2 Goalkeepers during Phase 3.
Duplicates are allowed again within this Phase, but only across players remaining in the Open Player Pool.
During this phase, each team must complete their 23-player roster.
With Phase 3 complete, each team will enter the competition with a unique 23-player squad. All final rosters will be published on FIFA.GG as teams begin their journey to the FIFAe World Cup 2025™ featuring eFootball™.
