Exciting transfers ahead of the new competitive gaming season
October is usually one of FIFAe’s busiest months and this year was no exception! The season launch was timed with a rebranding of FIFA.GG, which became the one-stop-shop for the hub of FIFA esports - including sign-ups for the FIFAe Club Series™ and information for players competing online working their way into the esports domain. Also, clubs across the world were busy signing new players to reach their peak greatness with the exciting 2v2 competitions ahead of us. Here’s a bit more information on what happened in FIFAe in the past month.
Some of the world’s biggest players switched their club allegiances in the last few weeks with one eye on the 2v2 competitive gameplay coming later in the year - but which club made the biggest move this month?
Excel made a statement transfer in the window with Tom Leese making the switch from Hashtag United, but in the past month it was also confirmed that former world champion Gorilla would also rejoin the team from his last stint with the organisation back in 2015.
However, he wasn’t the only former champion to rejoin his old team - as MSDossary also made the switch back to the Saudi Arabia-based Team Falcons, which he left in 2018.
Elsewhere, Fabio Denuzzo from Italy left AC Milan and QLASH to join Serie A rivals U.C. Sampdoria and their partners Nest eSports.
Cosimo ‘CosimoNBD’ Guarnieri has made the move from HC9 Esports to Mkers
Diogo ‘Tuga810’ Pombo has signed with Riders
With Tom Stokes heading to Hashtag United, and Lev Vinken moving to DiogoJota Esports, Gareth Bale’s Ellevens have picked up two Scotsmen - Jayden Groden and Marc Marley
Fresh off a top six finish in the South American playoffs this year, Victor ‘Tore’ Santos has been picked up by Inter Esports
A dedicated FIFAe sonic identity has been launched! This is the sound to showcase the legacy at the fingertips of the competitors and where ultimate glory will be achieved, all bundled up in an overarching catchy theme tune.
Each individual tournament narrative will be highlighted further with a slight variation of the upbeat sound that you will be able to immediately associate with the top level of competitive FIFA, bringing the players into a universe to get inspired to beat the very best. Listen to it now here.
FIFA is also excited to give even more to the community by bringing you the “FIFAe Squad” - an approach that aims to get even closer to the fans, support our promising talent and grow the FIFAe scene with them. FIFAe is all about the community - and the FIFAe Squad will create an inclusive, and community-driven program that the FIFAe community will be able to relate to.
Iconic members of the FIFAe community, some of which include top streamers and creators, FIFAe commentators & analysts as well as elite professional players will be just some of the people taking part in the new approach. It will involve a host of things ranging from content delivered to your doorstep every week to having a voice on decisions that could affect the future of competitive FIFA. More information will follow soon.
