The FC Pro World Championship 2024, held from July 11-13 at the Uber Eats Music Hall in Berlin, Germany, featured the world's top players and some of the most renowned figures in the football esports scene. The first pinnacle event of the EA FC 24 series brought together 32 elite competitors who vied for the championship title and a share of the $1 million prize pool. Eventually, Vejrgang, one of the favorites, became the first-ever FC PRO World Championship winner. This adds up to this year's trophies by the 18 year old, who was also responsible for the victory of Denmark in the UEFA eEuro 2024, held earlier this month.

Upsets and New Stars

The group stage of the FC Pro World Championship was marked by several surprising upsets. Notable players, including the FC Pro Open winner PHzin, LaLiga FC Pro champion Nicolas99fc, and ePremier League winners Tekkz and Bonanno, were unexpectedly eliminated early in the competition.

Some of the standout performances included Max Koelemaij, who had a remarkable group stage, securing impressive victories over Tekkz and Abu Makkah. His performance highlighted his potential and his strategic prowess, which earned him a wonderful streak which ended in the Round of 16 against JAfonso.

Another stellar performance was xcharifx, who entered the competition as an underdog through the Play-ins. The Moroccan captured attention with his stunning victories over top players like JP Sleator, Jorjewin, and Brandsha during the group stage. His success story added excitement to the tournament, highlighting his potential to advance further​. xcharifx only left the competition in the semi finals against the winner of the competition.

The winner of the eChampions League 2024, Jonny, also had a good group stage. However, said good bye sooner than expected in the round of 16

Yuval, who was one of the favorites and entered the competition representing FC Famalicão, had a great tournament and ultimately became the runner-up of the competition. Unfortunately, his last match was swarmed by goals from Vejrgang.

Top Goals

The group stage also featured some spectacular goals. Among the top five goals, notable mentions include PHzin’s skillful play, Tekkz’s crucial strike in a qualification match, and NathanSR22’s impressive long-range effort.

Of course, one of the best goal-full matches was the final match between Vejrgang and Yuval, which ended in a massive victory for the Danish. Surely this is not the last time we will see Vejrgang thriving, but other players certainly made honorable mentions across the competition.
