Tekkz, EmreYilmaz and Phzin are some of the figures that we will see at the FIFAe World Cup
FIFAe World Cup 2023 is part of two-week long FIFAe Finals 2023
After a long and exciting season, all 24 spots for the FIFAe World Cup 2023™ were claimed this past weekend. The best players from the recently concluded EA SPORTS™ FIFA 23 Global Series Playoffs will now face each other from during the FIFAe Finals as they compete for the title of FIFAe World Champion.
Since its inception in 2004, the FIFAe World Cup has captivated fans and players alike, establishing itself as the pinnacle event of FIFA esports for individual players. Legends like the two-time World Champion and recent member of FIFAe's Hall of Fame, Alfonso Ramos, and the 2018 World Champion Mosaad Aldossary, have not only raised the bar of excellence but have also served as inspiring figures for players all over the world to persevere in an intense qualification process during each season of the nearly two decades of the competition's existence.
Likewise, the case of Tekkz, who has already been responsible not only for several achievements in his trajectory as a player but also for FNATIC claiming one of the two top spots at the FIFAe Club World Cup this season, and the case of Paulo Henrique de Souza, who has been an essential contributor to Brazil retaining its title as the FIFAe Nations Champion, continue to showcase the passion of players in the FIFA esports scene after their consecutive qualifications this year.
The road of qualification to this season’s FIFAe World Cup was challenging. The top players first earned an invitation during the FUT Division Rivals to participate in online regional qualifiers; while Partner Leagues like ePremier League and eLaLiga, provided either direct qualification opportunities for the FGS Playoffs, or the chance to go through the newly introduced Play-ins stage. Finally, the top competitors from both the qualifiers and from Partner Leagues made their way to the decisive stage – the FGS Playoffs.
Among the 24 top players who have secured their places are EmreYilmaz, one of the current champions of the eChampions League for Team Gullit; Vejrgang, one of the youngest promises of Denmark and one of the current champions of the VBL for RBLZ Gaming; and Nicolas99fc, runner-up in the FIFAe World Cup 2022 and representative of Argentina and Guild Esports – all guaranteeing an event full of exciting matches.
As customary, the FIFAe World Cup will take place along with the FIFAe Club World Cup and the FIFAe Nations Cup, as part of the FIFAe Finals 2023. The competition will be divided into a group stage and later knockout stages until the final match where the FIFAe World Champion will be decided.
