How Domestic Qualifiers Will Work for the FIFAe World Cup™ 2024 Featuring Rocket League

FIFAe

When it comes to high-stakes international esports tournaments, having a fair and competitive way to determine each nation's representative is crucial. For the FIFAe World Cup™ 2024 featuring Rocket League, this process is no different, with Member Associations (MAs) playing a central role in selecting their players or teams. But in an ecosystem where each country has different levels of infrastructure, player pools, and resources, flexibility in the qualification process is vital.

The ultimate goal is to send the best team from each nation to represent them on the global stage. However, the methods for determining these representatives are not rigid. Instead, MAs have the freedom to choose from three different qualification formats or, in some cases, directly nominate players.

Are you ready to represent your country in the upcoming FIFAe World Cup 2024 featuring Rocket League? Here's everything you need to know about the sign-up process, domestic qualifiers and nominations.

Where to start?

First, you need to see if your country is in list of participants. If you are from any of these nations, congratulations! You can participate for a chance to represent your nation in the upcoming FIFAe World Cup:

  • Argentina

  • Australia

  • Belgium

  • Brazil

  • Chile

  • England

  • France

  • Germany

  • Morocco

  • Netherlands

  • Portugal

  • Saudi Arabia

  • South Africa

  • Spain

  • Türkiye

  • USA

Then head over to FIFA.GG

  • Every player who will participate in the pinnacle event will need an account on FIFA.GG

  • Sign up on FIFA.GG and follow the instructions.

  • If your nation has opened registrations for the domestic qualifiers, you will be able to see the instructions on your dashboard.

For more information on the FIFA.GG registration, see our FAQs section below.

How will my nation handle my registration and domestic qualification?

Registrations for relevant nations started on 17 September. Depending on your country of representation, your nomination or qualification format and schedule will be handled differently.

1. Open Qualifiers Nations

Open qualifiers refers to the qualifiers open to all competitors within the nation. Domestic qualification then follows.

If you're from one of the following countries, you can sign up via open registration on FIFA.GG. Please keep track of your Member Associations platforms to follow their instructions and possible updates on competition formats and schedule:

  • Argentina (19 October)

  • Belgium (13 October)

In particular, if you are from Portugal, the qualification event will be done via your Member Association, so you need to follow their platforms to get inform yourself about this part of the competition in terms of registration, schedule and format.

2. Direct Nomination Nations

Nations have the option to directly nominate players or teams, allowing them to bypass the competitive process entirely. This is ideal for countries where a clear top team already exists or where logistical challenges prevent hosting a large-scale tournament.

If your country uses this format, you directly receive a nomination from your member association to participate in the FIFAe World Cup™ 2024 featuring Rocket League, so please keep an eye on your member association’s communications. Countries that use this format are:

  • England

  • France

  • Morocco

  • Saudi Arabia

  • Türkiye

  • USA

3. Invitational Playoffs Nations

In this case, the MA handpicks eight teams to compete directly, either online or offline, for the qualifying spot. Players from countries with invitational playoffs will not be able to register via open registration on FIFA.GG, but rather will be directly invited to participate in a playoffs stage via the team you belong to. Countries with this format are

  • Australia (20 Oct)

  • Germany (12 Oct)

  • Chile (19 Oct)

4. Open Qualifiers mixed with Invitational Playoffs

This format merges open competition with select invites. Day one is an open qualifier, while four teams are directly invited to day two, creating a competitive pool of eight teams for the final showdown. Countries that will handle this format are

  • Brazil (5 – 6 October)

  • South Africa (12-13 October)

  • Spain (19-20 October)

5. Nations hosting Open Qualifiers on their platforms, but requiring FIFA.GG registration to participate

Portugal and the Netherlands will nominate or host their domestic qualifiers via MAs platforms. Players from these nations will need to register via FIFA.GG in order to be considered for said domestic qualifiers.

Deadline for registration

Registrations for the domestic qualifiers will typically close on 26 September 2024. Member Associations may, however, request an extension. But please keep in mind that, after the initial deadline or the approved extension date, no further registrations will be accepted.
