Ajax wins the KPN eDivisie Finals 2023-24, earning a spot in the UEFA eChampions League and the EA SPORTS FC Pro World Championship.
Gentle Mates Alpine emerged victorious in RLCS Major 1, securing a $75,000 prize and a path to the Rocket League World Championship 2024.
TALONESUI and RealFabiano93 won the eFootball 24 Championship FC Bayern München in mobile and console categories, respectively, set to represent FC Bayern München in Tokyo.
Last week marked an important moment in the football esports scene, with finalists clinching their spots in the coveted FC PRO World Championship, eFootball 24 Championship in Tokyo and Rocket League World Championship. Concurrently, various competition phases propelled players and teams nearer to their aspirations across different leagues.

The E-League's third matchweek concluded on 27 March, with Mark11 leading the scoreboard for Melbourne City in the first division (Competitors) and LuanPiuga on top of the second division (Challengers) table with Sydney FC. The eLPF group stage continued with Deportivo Riestra, represented by giuliano2001 heading Group A, Kiketo for Talleres leading Group B (with Newell's stepping on their toes); a tight Group C with Gimnasia leading by 3 points; and Group D in an even tighter situation with Belgrano and Rosario Central sharing points in the table. The DFB Cup Round of 16 took place on 26 and 27 March, where 8 teams (FC St. Pauli, Blue Dragons x DJK Heuweiler, Werder Bremen, Borussia Dortmund, Hamburger SV, VfB Stuttgart, RBLZ Gaming - RB Leipzig and HolsteinEsports secured their spot in the upcoming quarter finals. Featuring 8 qualified teams from the Playoffs and the four periods of regular season, the Dutch teams battled intensively on 30 March, with Ajax resulting as not only the winner of the first and fourth period during the regular season, but also as the Champion of the KPN eDivisie season 2023-24.
During the Finals, Ajax faced an equally strong PSV Eindhoven over three matches that ended in a penalty shootout. In addition to a 20'000 EUR prize money, Ajax representatives Levi de Weerd and PHzin gained access to the UEFA eChampions League, while Max Koelemaij qualifies for the EA SPORTS FC Pro World Championship. PSV also has secured a spot in the eChampions League.
In addition to the trophy lift, the event held three more awards: The KPN Goal of the Season award to Tom Dijkhuizen of PEC Zwolle; Mounir El Kahtaoui was crowned Rookie of the Season by the KPN eDivisie fans; and lastly, Emre Yilmaz won the PlayStation Assist of the Season. This event, which took place in H20 Esports Campus - Purmerend, concludes the eDivisie season.
The RLCS Major 1 in Copenhagen, held from 28 to 31 March was the season's first major event, bringing top Rocket League teams to Denmark's K.B. Hallen Arena.
Competitors battled for a $255,000 prize pool in a tournament that featured a Swiss Stage followed by playoffs in a single elimination format.
After a thrilling four day event, Gentle Mates Alpine secured their victory in the Finals against G2 Stride after winning 4 out of the 7 final games in a Bo7 format. In addition, the Gentle Mates Alpine took home 75'000 USD plus bonus points for their qualification to the Rocket League World Championship 2024 later this year.
The eFootball Championship 2024 for FC Bayern München enthusiasts unfolded, leading to a grand finale in Munich, Bavaria. This event distinguished the top players in both mobile and console categories, with Thailand’s TALONESUI winning the mobile division and French player RealFabiano93 taking the console title.
These victors earned the right to represent FC Bayern München at the World Finals in Tokyo and will travel along the representatives of FC Barcelona, AC Milan, Inter and Arsenal.
To add on the prestige of the competition, the event saw Thomas Müller as a star guest, commentating along Semra Hunter, Harry Channon, Steward Philip Westley during the final matches, and lifting the trophies with the Champions.
